The Process

To help you know what to expect, here’s what happens with this offering:

a) You book your first appointment through this website when you purchase the offering. To be clear, you will pay up front for the price of both sessions, but only the first one will show up in your calendar. We’ll book the second after you complete your personalized Pathway.

b) I’ll send you a questionnaire regarding what you has been troubling you and what you are ready to unpack.

c) You fill out this questionnaire at least 24 hours in advance of our appointment, which gives me time to review your astrological natal chart and prepare for our session.

d) We meet together over Zoom.

• You bring yourself and your willingness to go deep. I bring your natal chart and my initial thoughts based on your questionnaire, which we use as a jumping off point.

• Unless you would prefer we didn’t, I record the session so that you can review + rewatch later. That way, you don’t feel like you need to take notes.

e) After our session, I personalize a Pathway for you, around five pages of questions and exercises based on what we talked about in the first session. I send this to you, along with your natal chart, to support you in making your own meaning from whatever you’re ready to integrate.

f) After you finish the Pathway, you send me a message about what you learned. It can be an email or a voice memo, but I want to hear what fresh meaning you’ve made!

g) Then we schedule our second session, which focuses on the dreams you’re ready to build.

h) During that session, based on the meaning you’ve made and the information we’ve gathered from the stars, we craft a path that walks you towards your dreams. 

i) If you’ve chosen to buy a bracelet, necklace, and/or JourneyPen Voice letter as an add-on, I make one based on what we’ve discussed in our last session, and I send it to you.

Yes.

- You must know your birth date, birth time, and birth place.

- You must have an open mind about astrology (no experience with it with required though).

- You must also be willing to do a little emotional homework—in the form of the Pathway—in order to make meaning of what has already transpired for you.

If you’re missing any of these ingredients, then this isn’t the best fit for you. You might explore other offerings at the JourneyPen Project.

Many astrologers focus on interpreting your natal chart and/or making predictions based on what the planets are doing now. Though I can shed light on each of those areas, those aren’t my specialties.

In this offering, I instead focus on: helping you integrate the previous transits what has already happened in the previous year and seeing if that may shed insight on what might happen in the coming year. I also look for insight on what kind of creative process might be natural for you based on the ages and angles of your planets.

Communication between you and Shelby is limited to the questionnaire before the session(s), emails about scheduling, and the one-on-one Zoom sessions. Additional communication between you and Shelby is provided only through the JourneyPen Voice Letters, which is available as an add-on. Textual support, social media messaging, email, and other forms of communication are not included.

There are two reasons behind this:

1) The one-on-one sessions are designed to provide support while also nurturing your creative independence. You are supported in making your own meaning in the session so that with the unshakable meaning you’ve made, you feel supported and nourished—even when you’re alone at your desk in the midst of your own creative process.

2) All JourneyPen offerings are also designed to allow Shelby space and capacity to continue creating on her own. Writing books, crafting classes, and creating other content requires time, energy, and other resources, which doesn’t allow her to be available outside of the containers she already offers.

I’m considering offering a multi-session mentorship container in 2023, but the long-term mentorship will only be available to those who have already worked with me before.

That way, we’ll both already know if we’re a good fit for long-term work.

Yes, you definitely need to be eighteen or older.

If you’ve gotten to know Shelby Bach through The Ever Afters, and/or if you’re still a student, that’s fabulous—this offering probably won’t serve you as much as others will.

Since this is a two-session offering, it is more expensive than a single session.
